Session cost calculator – chart
Computed from the real 99% paytables.

Bet × drops × edge

The expected cost of any Plinko session is three numbers multiplied together: your bet, the number of drops and the house edge. At $1 a drop, 20 drops a minute and a 1% edge, an hour costs $12 on average. Auto-play at maximum speed can exceed 60 drops a minute, which triples the figure. Nothing about rows or risk changes this – they only change the swing around it.

The swing

The one-sigma band is the range in which about 68% of sessions finish. On low risk it is tight: an hour at $1 might finish anywhere from −$40 to +$16. On 16 rows high risk the same hour has a one-sigma band of roughly ±$190, and the distribution is skewed – most sessions finish well below the mean and a few finish far above it. If the lower bound of the band is more than you are willing to lose, lower the bet or the risk.

Rakeback changes the net

Enter your rakeback rate and the calculator shows how much of the expected cost comes back. At 20% it turns a $12 hour into a $9.60 hour. See our rakeback calculator for the full comparison across brands.

FAQ

FAQ

Click any question – they open independently.

Is the house edge always 1%?

On the standard Plinko tables it is between 0.84% and 1.09% depending on rows and risk. The calculator uses the exact figure for the board you select.

Why is the swing so much bigger on high risk?

Because the standard deviation per drop is about six times higher. Variance scales with the square of that, so an hour on high risk has roughly 35 times the variance of low risk.

Does the number of rows change the cost?

Not the expected cost – all row counts sit at about 99% RTP. More rows mean more extreme tails and a wider band.
