How Plinko odds work
Every peg on a Plinko board sends the ball left or right with equal probability. After n rows the ball has made n independent coin-flips, and the bucket it lands in is simply the number of "rights". That makes the landing distribution binomial: bucket k has probability C(n,k) / 2n. On 16 rows the centre bucket collects 19.6% of drops while each corner collects 0.0015% – one in 65,536.
The casino sets a multiplier for each bucket, and the RTP is the probability-weighted sum of those multipliers. All 27 standard configurations land between 98.9% and 99.2%, so changing rows or risk does not change how much you lose on average – only how the losses and wins are distributed.
Reading the results
Drops paying ≥1× is the share of drops that return at least your stake; it ranges from about 80% (16 rows, low) to 21% (16 rows, high). Std dev per drop is the volatility in units of your bet – under 1 on low risk, over 5 on high risk at 16 rows. Expected loss is bet × house edge; multiply by drops to budget a session, or use the session cost calculator.
