What a deposit match really costs
A "200% bonus up to $1,000" sounds like free money, but it is a loan you repay through wagering. If the bonus carries 40× wagering, a $500 bonus requires $20,000 of bets before it can be withdrawn. At a 1% house edge those bets cost, on average, $200 – so the bonus is worth about $300 if you clear it, and most players do not.
Game weighting is the hidden multiplier. If Plinko counts 100% toward wagering, the numbers above hold. If it counts 10%, you need $200,000 of Plinko bets to clear the same bonus, and the expected cost exceeds the bonus by a wide margin. Always read the weighting table before you accept a match.
Match versus rakeback
The calculator shows the equivalent rakeback rate: the rakeback percentage that would hand you the same value over the same turnover. If that figure is below 10%, a plain rakeback deal like Stake's GETRAKEBACK is at least as good and comes with no strings. If it is above 20%, the match is the better deal provided you were going to wager that much anyway.
